Animal Bowen Therapy is a holistic noninvasive therapy. It’s a brain-body connection helping the body reconnect the neurological pathways so that the body can function as a whole.
With a few, gentle movements bowen gives the body time and space to unwind and digest physical and/or emotional stress. It helps the body shift from sympathetic to parasympathetic dominance and allows the body to heal
During a session, moves will be done over specific points of the body that will target the layers of fascia. The session is interspersed with breaks which allow the brain & nervous system to process, recalibrate and start changes within the body and to give the animal time to process what is happening.
Bowen helps with mobility, digestive, respiratory and arthritis issues. As well as helps minimize stress and anxiety, and increases energy levels in elderly animals.
Our goal is for your animal to feel their best and be able to live their lives to the fullest potential!
You are advised to book 3-4 sessions over several consecutive weeks to ensure your dog feels the full benefit of the therapy.
Kali is a 13 year old Mastiff who has troubles getting up after lying down for long periods of time and stiff in the hind end when walking.
As you can see from the first photo (far left) her front legs were very close together, whereas her hind legs were spread further apart (indicating she is trying to take weight off her hind end - aka hind end weakness). After the third week we began to see a noticeable change (third photo from the left), by week 4 (far right photo) she was standing much more square meaning she is no longer compensating and more comfortable evenly distributing her weight on all fours. As well as she had more energy and was getting up easier than week 1!
Maggie is an 8 year old Golden retriever. She had a hard time getting up in the morning after having been lying down for a long time.
As you see in the first photo (far left) her front legs are spread wide apart compared to her hind legs which are much closer together (indicating she has a front end weakness). By our third session (third photo from left) we started to see a noticeable change in her stance. Then by the fourth session she was standing perfectly square without issues (that tells me she is feeling comfortable to stand square without pain or discomfort)! Her owner also indicated she was not struggling to get up in the morning as much and had more energy during the day!
Trust the bowen process.
