Bowen is a gentle, non-invasive treatment that uses soft, precise rolling movements over muscles, tendons, and fascia to stimulate the dog’s nervous system and support the body’s natural ability to heal and rebalance itself.
Bowen is suitable for dogs of all ages including puppies and senior dogs who may not tolerate more forceful therapies.
- Reduce pain and stiffness
- Improve posture and joint mobility
- Reduce stress, anxiety and help with nervous system regulation
- Beneficial for dogs recovering from injury or surgery
- Enhance overall health and energy
The dog is either lying or standing comfortably and is never forced to physically participate. Regular breaks are built into the session to give the body time to reset, realign, and respond before the next sequence of movements.
The first Bowen treatment takes about an hour, and includes an assessment of the dog’s movement, imbalances and symptoms. Sessions are typically scheduled one week apart to achieve the best results. For most conditions, a series of three treatments is recommended, with each session building on the progress of the previous one. Long-standing issues may require additional sessions or an ongoing maintenance plan.
